GDPR Certification

Demonstrating the Legal Compliance of SME's

GDPR certification refers to becoming legally compliant with GDPR. S.H.I.E.L.D is Transition Law's own GDPR certification scheme, operated by experienced data protection legal advisors, who can assess and supply accreditation to any small or medium sized business in the UK. Use of the S.H.I.E.L.D logo, member benefits and other advantages are available FREE of charge to any GDPR compliant business.

The Assessment Process

Business owners register to become a S.H.I.E.L.D holder, and once in contact with a member of the program management team, they will be asked to supply evidence of their compliance for FREE assessment.

The assessment is subjective, based on the GDPR requirement that compliance must be "bespoke" to the business concerned. Consequently, the assessment will consider the individual character of each business. However, the following objective criteria will always be included:

  1. ICO Registration (where necessary)
  2. Identify a responsible individual and assess duties.
  3. Bespoke, compliant, written, policy document(s)
  4. Online compliance. (where applicable)
  5. Staff Training. (where applicable)
  6. Provision for review and updating.

Example of GDPR compliance certification, as displayed on the page of each accredited member, on the S.H.I.E.L.D portal.

If your business is compliant under data protection legislation, your are entitled to FREE GDPR certification and S.H.I.E.L.D membership. Use it to demonstrate your compliant status and enjoy unique member benefits.
